Designed by acclaimed architect, Richard Murphy, and developed by BUREDI, the development, has been nominated for a Silver Medal. The awards, which acknowledge excellence in architecture in the Edinburgh area, will be announced at the EAA Ball on 18th March.

The development is part of the £15m regeneration of Tron area by BUREDI, a joint venture between The Burrell Company and The EDI Group and Castle Rock Housing Association.

The Tron has already won a number of awards, including the prestigious Saltire Award for Housing Design and the Residential Award for Excellence at the Property Executive Development Awards. The nursery within the development was also named Best Small Project at the British Construction Industry Awards and short listed for the Prime Minister's Better Public Building Award in 2003.

Andrew Burrell, Managing Director of The Burrell Company, said: "It's a great honour to be nominated for this award. The development comprises a combination of commercial and residential space, featuring 24 apartments in total, including three duplex penthouses.
