A joint venture between urban regeneration specialists The Burrell Company and The Places for People Group, one of the UK‚s largest housing and community regeneration agencies, work is well under way in constructing the Upper Strand development. The initial phase will feature over 100 one, two and three bedroom homes for sale along with 27 apartments for affordable rent, managed by Edinvar Housing Association.
Andrew Burrell, Managing Director of The Burrell Company, said: "With the entire Forthside area being dramatically transformed, we are expecting demand for properties in this area to soar.
"Having worked with Savills recently on our Ravelrig House development, we are confident they will do an excellent job marketing these properties."
Colin Rae, Development Director in Scotland for The Places for People Group, added: "With its combination of private and rented housing, Upper Strand is set to be a very desirable place to live, providing a vibrant community atmosphere."
Andrew Perratt, Director at Savills, added: "We are very pleased to work with The Burrell Company again. This is a very exciting project to be involved in, particularly as it's located in one of the city's future hotspots."
The extensive six-phase project is part of the overall Waterfront Edinburgh regeneration project and involves architects, Reiach and Hall and Elder and Cannon. In total, more than 500 quality homes will be built over the next five years.
From mid May an Information Suite will be located on site. Opening 12 noon until 5pm every Friday through to Sunday, the suite will provide further information and detail about the local area and the development to interested parties prior to the launch of the development in the autumn.
