This early Burrell Company development, off the Royal Mile, involved the restoration of some of the exisiting fabric forming the closes off the Mile, and converting these properties back to their original residential use.
The proposals also involved the disposal of the former Herriot's Hospital building to the Faculty of Advocates.
New offices for the Festival Fringe were included in the scheme, as was a new home for the Burrell Company. These activities helped rejuvenate the ground floor/street scene in an otherwise dreary stretch of the Roal Mile - work that was picked up by Buredi some tweleve years later.
